Hey Kevin,

Thanks for the kudos. You've done great too, keep up the hard work. And it is still hard work for me, but well worth it!

I am lucky with being strong on the bike. Mostly it comes from just riding my bike alot, like 50+ miles a week for three years straight. Also doing intervals and stuff. Just keep at it. Someone once told me it takes 3 years to get strong on the bike. I think that's right. I used to bonk (or whatever it is) after 40 miles. Now I can pretty much ride as long as my butt will allow (that builds up toughness, too!)

I don't know about the caffeine - that was so long ago that I wrote that blog. I treid so many different things back then to drop the last 20 lbs or so. That last bit just does not want to leave the body! When my ideas seemed to work, I blogged about it. Then I'd hit another wall and had to try something else. I did start drinking coffee again. I love that stuff. Hmmm...maybe I should try giving it up. Really want to get below 140 , but just can't.

Dayum!!

Carol, you have done so well! Looking at your before and after pictures has totally got me all stoked up again about losing weight.

In your blog you said one small change of eliminating caffeine seemed to helped and you thing the added muscle mass started kicking up your metabolism.

I think I'm at that point as well ... I'm almost sure I'm doing everything about 85% right ... there is just something small ... one or two foods or habits I need to correct and possibly get back to eating more protein and add back some weight lifting.

Before when weight was dropping off 1-2 lbs a week without even trying, I was eating hi protein and low carbs and lifting weights 4-5 times a week.

So I start tri training and had to cut out almost all weights and of course switch over to more carbs. If I can find some time to add in maybe 30 minutes of weights like every other day ... and a way to increase my protein and reduce carbs without sacrificing energy to run and bike ... I think I would break thru my plateau.

Anyhow ... Congrats again on all the hard work! You're one tought chick ... you totally left me (and Mark) in the dust today once you got onto Big Wood road ... that was awesome!

See ya!
