Reduced Carbs

Yesterday I thought I would try to count my carbs, thinking that maybe my plateua is becuase I am eating too many carbs. Even tho I try to choose less carbs and healthier foods, whenever counting calories, there is a tempation to choose lower fat, higher carb foods.

So, I looked up on the Atkins site what they recommend for a carb intake for the Atkins diet. I never realized how Atkins worked before... Your carb intake for the ongoing weightloss phase depends on how much weight you lost during the induction phase. Anyway, I picked a number in the middle of their chart - 50 grams.

I ate the same amount of calories as I have been ~ 1250. But I only ate 50 carbs. I felt so hungry and dissatisfied. I woke up at 4am hungry. I tried to ignore my hunger and go back to sleep, but couldn't. I got up and had some cheese. That didn't satisfy me, so a little while later, I had a packet of trail mix.

Hmmmm....50 grams of carbs must not be enough for me!
