Cleansing after a Pigout BingeAs usual, I totally pigged out on Thanksgiving. We always have two turkey dinners, one on my side of the family, and one on my husband's side. I felt so awful the day after: all bloated and lethargic! Here's what I do to get back to my "thinner self" after pigging out. 1) To get rid of the bloated feeling, I take a laxative that night. 4 Tablespoons (the max dose) Philips Milk of Magnesia does it for me. The next morning, I feel so much better after cleansing all that food out of my system. (Please use this tip with caution, as even mild laxatives can be addicting. I only do this a few times per year, around the holidays!) 2) To get rid of the lethargic feeling, I get some exercise the next day. I think the feeling of lethargea after pigging out comes from excess glucose in the bloodstream, and exercise is the perfect thing to burn it away. 3) Don't eat the next day until I am actually hungry. I will still have my coffee with milk (of course) and I might have a whey smoothie. But I don't eat any food until I actually feel hungry again, which generally isn't until dinner time the next day.
