Evaporated Milk

Today, I did not have any 2% milk for my coffee.  It was too damn cold and icy to run to the corner store for some.  I cannot drink coffee black.  So, I opened a can of evaporated milk and mixed it with water to make a milky like substance. Not bad and alot less calories!  Woot.

  1. Yeah, I can’t drink my coffee black, also. Are you sure evaporated milk has less calories? This is what I found online: “Evaporated milk is made by exposing fresh milk to high heat so water essentially evaporates. The end result is a dense, high calorie milk that is usually fortified with vitamins A & D, just like fresh milk. Yet because of the evaporation process, the concentrated milk you get when you buy a can of evaporated milk has a higher concentration of vitamin content.”

I can’t drink coffee black either. I use evaporated milk often in my coffee, but I don’t mix it with water. It’s creamier that way and reminds of half and half.
