I love sweets too. Unfortunately, I think that we, as Americans, make a habit of taking everything to excess, instead of following the adage, "Everything in moderation".

I sometimes wonder, how much of that excessive consumption is partly the fault of the marketers who promote the products, through colorful packaging, and clever marketing ploys like "Super-sizing"?

To help myself combat my desire for sweets, I got in the habit of only buying bags of candy, at stores which are not part of my normal shopping circuit, and somewhat out of the way.

I guess the "self-help psychologist" in me felt that if I were to make it a nuisance to get candy, I wouldn't eat as much of it.

I find it ironic, and somewhat humerous, that men still give us girls candy, despite the fact that many of us worry about our weight.
