Here is a funny story: I was in the grocery store look at bagged candy. It's my hubby's b-day tomorrow, and I always sprinkle candy around the table for us to enjoy as we celebrate. I usually buy a big bag of kisses or mini peanut butter cups.
As I stood there trying to decide which to buy, a young couple came up behind me and the woman stated she wanted to buy some candy. The man said "We need candy like a hole in the head". I thought that was hilarious! I ended up buying a small package of Ferrer Rocherer hazelnut cups. Only 2 per each of us. Yay for me, and yay for that young man for reminding me I don't really need any more sweets this week!

I love sweets too. Unfortunately, I think that we, as Americans, make a habit of taking everything to excess, instead of following the adage, “Everything in moderation”.
I sometimes wonder, how much of that excessive consumption is partly the fault of the marketers who promote the products, through colorful packaging, and clever marketing ploys like “Super-sizing”?
To help myself combat my desire for sweets, I got in the habit of only buying bags of candy, at stores which are not part of my normal shopping circuit, and somewhat out of the way.
I guess the “self-help psychologist” in me felt that if I were to make it a nuisance to get candy, I wouldn’t eat as much of it.
I find it ironic, and somewhat humerous, that men still give us girls candy, despite the fact that many of us worry about our weight.
